Libby Stephens & the West Texas Food Bank
Project scope: Expansion to help create a 100,000 sq. ft. campus
ODC investment: $1 million
West Texas Food Bank was the first food bank in the country to receive economic development funds, hrlping create a funding moself for all US food banks. The total sq ft of the West Texas Food Bank’s regional distribution center is 100,000. The food bank serves 85,000 each year – that’s 14 million tons of food for 19 West Texas counties.

Blake Miller & Standard Industrial
Project scope: Expansion

Started in 1979, Standard Industrial Manufacturing is a specialty manufacturer of fluid end expendables for plunger pumps and centrifugal pumps. The expansion project allowed the company to increase the kinds of parts being manufactured as well as create jobs.
“The main driver for us seeking funding from the ODC was that we wanted to expand our manufacturing footprint where we previously didn’t have manufacturing and we wanted to do it here in the Basin. Additionally, we wanted to increase our sales presence,” said Blake Miller, President and CEO.
The company grew from zero manufacturing capability to purchasing 7 CNC machines and several manual cutting machines and grew their existing product line to include several new ones. The company has grown from eight employees to 23.

Nick Fowler & REXtac
REXTac and ODC partnered to save the defunct Flint Hills petrochemical plant. REXTac now provides APAO (Amorphous Poly Alpha Olefin) adhesive and sealant solutions for clients
worldwide. Nick Fowler credits the ODC’s investment in REXtac with saving the polymers plant. Now, REXtac polymers are used in products all over the world.
